The President of Women in Aviation – Ghana Chapter, Mrs. Juliet Wiafe has stressed the importance of breast cancer awareness for Girls in Aviation.
She stressed this point during the breast cancer awareness seminar and screening organized by the Women in Aviation (WAI) – Ghana Chapter in partnership with Delta Airlines, Ghana and Breast Care International on the 21st October, 2021 to commemorate the breast cancer month of October at the Kotoka International Airport, Terminal Two.

Mrs. Wiafe said that, “we brought all the ladies at the airport including our men to join us to have this wonderful session and it was a well attended program”. She spoke about the reason for organizing the program and how it started three years with the intention of making it an annual affair. Also, the association decided to extend it to the Girls in Aviation program because “the whole essence is to get the young ones to know about breast cancer and how to protect themselves and also live healthy lifestyles”.

She further explained why WAI took such an initiative explaining that there are a lot of women at the airport doing different functions and there was the need to bring all of them together to talk about breast cancer and how to prevent and protect oneself.
