Rwandair has issued a communique advising its passengers travelling to Dubai of the need to make a payment of a $120.00 for two covid-19 tests before departure from point of origin.
This follows the new UAE Covid-19 test requirements for passengers out of red list countries advising all passengers transiting or starting their journey at Kigali International airport from Douala, Lagos, Accra, Libreville, Cotonou, Abuja and Rwanda to Dubai to adhere to the following procedures:
1.Present a valid negative Covid-19 test certificate that is issued within the valid time frame of (48) hours from the time of collecting the sample and from an approved health service, which uses a QR code system.
Β· All transiting passengers will be required to arrive one day before their departure to Dubai.
Β· They will be required to get accommodation in Kigali to wait for the following day flight at their own cost
“Payment for two PCR Covid -19 tests will be made before departure from point of origin to cater for test on arrival in Kigali and a second test the following day – six hours (6hrs) to their flight. The two Covid-19 tests will cost $120” – the airline statement said.
Also, the airline has suspended the “lifting of passengers from Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria to Dubai from 25th December, 2021 till further notice” in conformation with the directive from the UAE with regard to suspending four African countries from entry into the country – the statement said.
