ASKY officially takes delivery of its two Boeing 737-8 MAX

ASKY, renowned as “The Pan-African Airline,” officially announced the delivery of two Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft following the signing of a lease agreement with AerCap, the world’s largest commercial aircraft lessor, on Monday, May 22, 2023.

These newly acquired aircraft, bearing the registrations ET-BAQ & ET-BAR, come with a passenger capacity of 160 seats, comprising 16 seats in Business Class and 144 seats in Economy Class.

The grand reception ceremony for these Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft was held on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Lomé’s Gnassingbé Eyadema International Airport. This momentous occasion witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Minister of Road, Air, and Rail Transport, airport authorities, Togo Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), prominent figures in the aviation industry, ASKY’s top management, representatives from travel agencies, members of the media, and other distinguished guests.

Noteworthy features of the Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft include cutting-edge technology that significantly reduces fuel consumption, thereby contributing to a reduced environmental footprint while ensuring optimal flight performance. The interiors of these aircraft are spaciously designed with modern amenities, prioritizing enhanced passenger comfort. Passengers can expect flexible seating options and state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment systems.

ASKY’s CEO, Mr. Esayas Woldemariam Hailu, expressed his pleasure with this crucial addition to the company’s fleet, “We are delighted to welcome these two new Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft to the ASKY family. These aircrafts embody our commitment to providing superior air transport services to our customers. In addition to strengthening our ability to serve a wide range of expanding destinations, these aircraft reflect our commitment to enhanced custom service.”

The Minister of Road, Air and Rail Transport in his speech was keen to congratulate the cooperation between ASKY and Ethiopian Airlines. ‘Aviation is more than just a means of transport. I would like to take this opportunity, which represents an important milestone in the history of Togolese civil aviation, to congratulate the Togolese Government most warmly on Togo’s participation in the capital of ASKY on August 21, 2023.’
